  • Association for Child and Family Mental Health

The Association for Child and Family Mental Health in Poland was
set up in 1997 in Rzeszów, Poland to promote child, adolescent and family mental health. There is a group of professionals dealing with children, youth and families in mental health service, mainstream and special schools, and academic teachers in psychology and philosophy. Aims and activities: networking at local level, including the creation of multi-disciplinary and inter- agencies meetings and conferences in order to promote the child and family mental health. In 2002 the activities for social inclusion of adult people with mental health problems were started.

In 2003 as a result of Grundtvig 1 project on “Parents School”
The Association of Families “Open Mind” was funded in Rzeszów. At the very beginning it has been run by families themselves. People with mental health band together within the “Open Mind” and take part in many social, culture and sport activities. Both organizations run local awareness campaigns and are involved in socially inclusive projects as partners: users, families and professionals together.
